An incredible record from Alicia Myers – one that may well be our favorite ever from this old school soul singer – and that's saying a hell of a lot, given the depth of her classic work! There's an amazing groove to the set right from the start – a warm, midtempo soul vibe that's totally right on the money – never too contemporary or too commercial, and served up with a real British appreciation for the classic style that always made Myers sound the best – yet given a bit of a youthful twist, too – almost like the best soul-oriented sessions that grabbed us from the London scene back at the start of the 90s. Alicia's vocals are wonderful – maybe, if anything, even better with age – and the songs are perfect for her too – no filler, all killer, and a rock solid album all the way through!
